When we were first pregnant (she says longingly), one of the first books we purchased was this one. I usually prefer anything hard copy but though the book is lovely, I was happy when a friend, almost immediately, linked us to the oft better known website.
How else would I track my baby’s growing size in fruitiness, its vegetable potential? Were we still pregnant, this week, I’d have a blueberry inside me. In two more weeks a grape.
Alas, we’re not in season at the moment. But months to come we’re hoping for good crop. A seed that turns to kumquat, then lemon, then squash. A hefty cauliflower. A beefy jicama. A pumpkin at last. The whole cornucopia.
