Preschool Bento

Today I am daydreaming that in time I will master making onigiri, shaping eggs into little rabbit heads and cutting cheese in tiny star shapes.

Then I could send my little munchkin off to school with enticing bento lunch boxes, like these darling Wendy Copley ones:

Wouldn’t you love your lunch too, if someone went through the trouble of making it look like this?

I would… but one of the little men in the penultimate image has a sad face… maybe it’s to make you want to eat it quickly so you don’t have to think about him being sad any more!

Yay! I get to do this starting August 25th. I ordered some cute things from J-List just the other day. I love Japanese style lunches for pre-schoolers.

Hey Petunia! It’s me Mrs. Snow Pea. I’ve been thinking about you and wanted to say hello and see how you are.

I have a ton of bento box pics saved on my computer for animal “shaping” ideas. There’s a lot on Flickr and one of my xanga pals, now korean-cusine at blogspot dot com makes them for her son and has a 101 post about them. She even uses holes punches from like craft stores to punch out cheese into star shapes!

When you get a chance, email me your home address.
